Webhooks eliminate the need for direct, pre-built integrations between Claspo and each marketing tool. In the context of connecting Claspo with Act-On, webhooks allow you to automatically and seamlessly transfer data from Claspo popups to Act-On.

To integrate Claspo with Act-On using webhooks, follow these steps.

Step 1: Generate a Webhook

1. In your Act-On account, navigate to Settings and select Connectors. Then, choose Custom Integrations followed by Incoming Webhooks.

2. Click Create Webhook and select Custom from the Webhook source. Enable Verification and choose a verification method. Include authentication with the outgoing webhook to validate the authenticity of the incoming data.

If you choose the Token option, Act-On will generate one for you.

For the Basic option, provide a username and password—just ensure they are secure. If you opt for the Digital Signature option, input all the required parameters from the developer documentation for the Webhook Sender.

3. Enable Content Mappings. If you already know the payload of the outgoing webhook, proceed to mappings; otherwise, skip to Create.

Map the variables from the outgoing webhook to the corresponding Act-On fields. You may want to map a variable to a custom Act-On field, which will help you easily segment contacts sourced via the webhook.

4. Click Create to save your webhook.

5. Test your Webhook. Before enabling your webhook, you must test it to ensure it can actively process messages from third parties. Testing confirms the payload structure and verifies that all required data is present.

6. Save a Webhook URL.

Step 2: Configure Webhook in Claspo

1. Access the Claspo dashboard.

Log in to your Claspo Account and navigate to the form or popup you wish to connect with Act-On.

2. Go to the Integration step in your popup settings.

In the form/popup settings, go to the Integrations step. Select Webhook as the integration method.

3. Add the Act-On webhook URL.

In the Webhook Settings, paste the URL for the webhook.

Step 3: Map Data Fields

1. Set the required parameters in the Body section.

In the Body section, you can retrieve the payload required for the content mapping step for setting up a webhook in your Act-On account.

Ensure that the data fields from your Claspo form/popup (e.g. email, name) are correctly mapped to the corresponding fields in Act-On. This will be sent to Act-On as a required parameter.

Step 4: Save and Activate the Webhook

After setting up the parameters, save your webhook configuration. Your Claspo form or popup will now automatically send lead data to Act-On whenever someone submits the form.
