Integrating Claspo with Klaviyo

Steps to integrate Klaviyo account to export data from Claspo

In Claspo, integrations with third-party apps are selected for each widget separately. You only need to connect an app once. After that, you can choose the connected integration from the list when setting up other widgets.

How to add Klaviyo integration to a widget.

After creating a widget from scratch or customizing a template, click Save. This will open the widget settings page.

To connect Klaviyo, go to the Integrations section and click Add.

Select Klaviyo from the dropdown list.

In the window that opens, click Allow to connect your Klaviyo account with Claspo.

Select the Klaviyo list where new contacts should be sent.

Then set up Field mapping. The source fields you see here depend on the fields included in your Claspo widget. For example, if your widget contains First name and Email address fields, you’ll see both of them available for mapping. If your widget only collects an email address, you’ll only see the Email address field.

Map each source field from your Claspo widget to the corresponding field in Klaviyo to make sure the data is passed correctly. For example, map First name to First name and Email address to Email address.

You can also map more data, such as promo codes, location details, UTM tags, or other available fields. To learn more, read the Field mapping: how to send widget data to integrations article.

Send widget responses to custom properties

To save additional information collected through your widget, enable Send data to custom properties.

Suppose you add a shoe-size dropdown to your signup form. This information can later help you send subscribers relevant offers for shoes available in their size.

In the integration settings, enable Send data to custom properties.

Claspo automatically adds all widget fields to the Send data to custom properties section. Review the list before saving the integration. If a field is already mapped to a Klaviyo field above, such as Email address, turn it off in the custom properties section. Enable only the additional fields you want to save as custom properties, such as shoe size in the example.

You can also edit a custom property name to control how it will appear in Klaviyo.

Click Done to save the integration.

If the property does not exist in Klaviyo yet, it will be created automatically.

Email and SMS subscriptions

When a visitor submits an email address or phone number, Claspo sends the data to the selected Klaviyo list and requests a marketing subscription for the corresponding channel.

What happens next depends on the opt-in settings of that list:

  • With single opt-in, the contact is subscribed immediately.

  • With double opt-in, Klaviyo sends a confirmation email or text message. The contact becomes subscribed only after confirming.

Claspo sends email and SMS subscription requests separately. If Klaviyo cannot process the phone number, the email subscription can still succeed. The phone number will remain in the contact’s profile, but the SMS subscription will not be confirmed.

Important!

Make sure your widget clearly asks visitors for consent to receive marketing messages before you collect and export their email addresses or phone numbers.

Disconnect Klaviyo integration

To disconnect Klaviyo from Claspo, open a widget that already has a Klaviyo integration connected, and then:

  1. Open the Integrations section.

  2. Click Klaviyo to open the integration settings.

  3. Click Disconnect.

  4. Read the warning in the confirmation window.

  5. Click Disconnect to confirm.

Disconnecting revokes Claspo’s access to this Klaviyo account. All Klaviyo integrations in the current project will stop exporting data. Integrations in other projects connected to the same Klaviyo account may also stop working.

After disconnecting, the Klaviyo connector becomes unauthorized. To use Klaviyo again, reconnect the account and set up the integration for the needed widgets.
