How to check your widget type
You can always check the widget type in the Widgets section of your account.
Go to Widgets in the main menu.
Find the widget in the list.
Under the widget name, you’ll see its type label (for example, Inform Users, Collect User Data, or Collect Requests).
This label shows the widget’s type and helps you understand what the widget is designed to do.
In most cases, the widget type cannot be changed after the widget is created.
Collect user data and Collect requests cannot be converted into each other. Their data logic is different and fixed at the widget type level.
A Collect user data or Collect requests widget can be turned into an Inform users widget by removing all form fields. In this case, the widget no longer collects data and works as an informational widget. Additional pages (Success or Error) remain in the widget, but they do not affect its behavior.
Widget types define what your widget does, while the widget layout defines how it looks. To learn how each layout works and when to use it, see our dedicated article on widget layouts.
