For instance, you might customize a template and add radio buttons to let subscribers choose their gender. This information can later be used for segmentation or personalized emails.
When setting up such fields in Claspo, make sure to enter a clear and recognizable value in the Export field name — this makes the mapping step much easier.
After creating the widget in Claspo, proceed to the Shopify integration step and check whether Shopify has the matching fields available for mapping.
Usually, the metafields you need are already set up in Shopify, and you can map your widget fields right away. If you notice that a field isn’t available, just create the corresponding metafield in Shopify and then return to mapping.

Add definition →
1. Name the field (such as, ‘gender’).
2. Click ‘+ Select type’ → choose Single line text.
3. Click Save.
Map it in Claspo
1. Open your widget details → Integrations → Shopify.
2. In Field mapping, open the dropdown on the right and select the new Shopify field:

All collected data, including custom fields, will appear in your Shopify account. To verify that everything is working correctly, go to the Customers section and open any customer.
