Shopify integration: How to add it and map fields

You can link Shopify to any Claspo popup — whether it’s brand-new or one you created earlier — so that the information users submit is sent straight to your Shopify store

When creating a new widget, the integration step appears right after the Triggering settings. In the Integrations section, click Add integration and select Shopify from the list.

Important

If the Shopify option does not appear in the dropdown, you need to connect your Shopify store to Claspo.

If you want to connect Shopify to a widget you already created:

1. Select the widget from your Widgets list.

2. Go to the Integrations tab.

3. Click Add integration.

4. From the dropdown, choose Shopify.

Set up field mapping

Now you need to map the fields so the data collected by your widget is transferred correctly to Shopify. Field mapping allows you to match widget fields (like сountry, сity, сountry code, site language, etc.) with the corresponding Shopify fields.

To set it up:

1. In the Field mapping section, open each dropdown you need.

2. Choose the Shopify field that corresponds to the widget field.

3. After all fields are mapped correctly, click Done.

This ensures that all subscriber data is properly recorded in your Shopify customer profiles.

If you plan to collect additional customer information through your widgets — such as preferences, gender, or birthday — check out our guide on custom fields (Shopify metafields) to learn how to map them correctly.

You can also use Static fields. These are fields with a fixed value that you set manually. The value is sent with every submission from this widget, regardless of what the visitor enters.

A common use case is adding a specific tag for segmentation in Shopify. For example, in Field value we enter ‘Shoes-sale’ and map this value to the Tags field in Shopify.

Each submission from this widget will apply this tag to the corresponding customer profile in Shopify.

After that, we can use the tag to build a segment and send focused campaigns, such as shoe-sale updates or accessory suggestions.

Note about automations

A subscription via Claspo’s widget can trigger Shopify workflows that use Customer subscribed to email marketing (if you’ve set them up in Shopify Flow).

This applies to all email forms connected to Shopify and isn’t tied to widget consent controls.
