The inactivity trigger comes into play when a visitor pauses on your page and nothing happens for a while.
They’re not scrolling, clicking, or tapping — just sitting idle. When that happens for the amount of time you set, your widget appears to pull them back in.
How inactivity is detected
Claspo looks for signs that a visitor has gone idle — meaning they’ve stopped interacting with the page. On desktop, that means moving the mouse, clicking, scrolling or typing. On mobile, that means tapping, swiping or scrolling.
If none of those happen for the time you’ve set, Claspo will consider the visitor inactive and trigger your widget.
The system also considers a visitor inactive if they switch to another tab.
Why it matters
Sometimes visitors just pause — they could be hesitating, comparing options, or simply distracted. That break is a good moment to show a widget that reminds them about your offer or helps them decide what to do next.
Examples:
On a product page: after two minutes of no activity, show a small offer like ‘Still interested? Here’s 10% off’.
At checkout: if someone pauses before completing their order, show a message about secure payments or free delivery.
On a blog: when a reader stops halfway, suggest subscribing so they don’t miss more content like this.
How to set it up
Go to Triggering → When to display.
Switch on Not active on the page.
Enter how long a visitor should be idle (in seconds, minutes, or hours).
Save your settings.
Smart ways to combine it
Scroll depth + inactivity — show a widget only if someone has already scrolled far into the page but then stopped. Works well for articles, guides, or landing pages.
Time on site + inactivity — show a widget after a visitor has explored your site for a while and then gone quiet. Great for stores or SaaS sites where hesitation can kill conversions.
These setups help you step in exactly when attention starts to slip — before the visitor clicks away.
