The scroll depth trigger displays a widget only after a visitor has scrolled through a set percentage of the page.
This ensures your message appears when the user has engaged with the content, not just glanced at the top.
How it works behind the scenes
Claspo calculates scroll depth as a percentage of how far down the page the visitor has scrolled. For example if the page is 10,000px tall and the user has scrolled 7,000px that’s 70%. This works across desktop and mobile — the system tracks the total page height and current scroll position in real time.
Why use it
Scroll depth is one of the clearest signs of real interest. Visitors who scroll deeper are more likely to be reading, comparing, or seriously considering your offer.
Examples:
On a long blog article, show a ‘Download the full guide’ floating bar when the reader scrolls past 50%.
On a product page, display a special offer or free-shipping floating box after the visitor reaches the reviews section.
On a pricing page, trigger a widget with ‘Need help choosing a plan?’ when a user scrolls 70%.
To make your widget truly effective, base your trigger settings on real data. Use your website analytics to check average scroll depth. This way, you set conditions that reflect actual visitor behavior.
How to set it up
Go to Triggering → When to display.
Toggle Read the page by.
Enter the percentage of the page a visitor must scroll through.
Save your changes.
Tips & combinations
Exit intent + scroll depth (use When all conditions are met) — the widget shows only to readers who scrolled significantly and are about to leave — a high-intent group worth converting.
URL-based targeting + scroll depth — show widgets only on specific pages (such as articles, pricing pages) after visitors scroll a certain amount.
By combining these rules, you ensure widgets appear at the right time, for the right audience.
