Target action is the main action you want a visitor to take after seeing your widget. In analytics, this metric shows how many visitors completed that action.
Types of target actions
Target actions depend on the widget type. For widgets with a form, the target action is subscription, and it is counted automatically. You do not need to configure anything.
For Inform users widgets, clicks are also counted by default. If you do not select any specific target action, Claspo counts any tracked click inside the widget as a target action.
You can manually define target actions only if you want to count specific clicks instead of all tracked clicks. For example, you can count:
click on a button or image with Open URL
click that launches another widget
click that closes the widget
click on a promo code
Navigation inside the widget (next page, previous page, open page) is not counted as a target action.
How to set up a target action
If needed, you can select a specific click in the editor.
1. Select a component (button, image, or container)
2. Open the General tab
3. Go to Action on click
4. Click Add action
5. Choose an action (for example, Open URL)
6. Add the required settings (for example, a link)
7. Turn on Count as a target action
To track promo code clicks, select the Promo code component, open the General tab, and turn on Count as a target action.
How it works
if you do not mark any action with Count as a target action, Claspo counts any tracked click as the target action.
If at least one action is marked, only marked actions are counted.
How Claspo counts target actions
Views and clicks
Views and clicks are counted as unique actions per visitor. If the same visitor sees the widget multiple times or clicks multiple times, it is counted as one view and one click.
Form submissions
Form submissions are counted differently. Each submission is counted separately. If the same visitor submits the form multiple times (with different emails and phone numbers), each submission is counted.
