In Claspo you can integrate with your existing Dotdigital account to use the capabilities provided by both apps.

NOTE:

Before proceeding with integration in Claspo, you need to create an API user in the Dotdigital account.

Adding the Dotdigital integration in Claspo

When creating a new widget, you can add a new integration at the Integration step.

There are two main steps to integrate your Dotdigital account with Claspo:

  1. Connecting the Dotdigital account.

  2. Configuring the Dotdigital integration settings for the widget.

Connecting the Dotdigital account

You can connect the Dotdigital account to Claspo when:

  • Creating a new widget, or

  • Adding the new integration for the existing widget.

To connect the Dotdigital account to Claspo:

  1. When creating a new widget, click + Add integration at the Integrations step.

    Or,

When adding the new integration to the existing widget, go to Widgets, select the widget, choose Integrations, and click + Add integration.

  2. Select Dotdigital from the list of apps.

The 'New Dotdigital integration' window opens.

  3. Enter your Dotdigital API user email address and password in the corresponding fields and click Save.

  4. Proceed with the following instructions below to configure the integration settings.

NOTE:

  • The Dotdigital access permission does not expire and remains valid unless you revoke it.

  • If you experience authorization issues, click the pencil icon beside the Dotdigital icon on the integration page and repeat the authorization process.

Configuring integration settings

In the New Dotdigital integration window, you can configure the following settings:

  • Opt-in type

  • Save consent data

  • Address book

  • Field mapping

Configuring the opt-in type

To configure the settings in the Opt-in type section, select one of the following options:

  • Verified double

  • Single

NOTE:

The correct operation of the Verified double option may depend on the settings in your Dotdigital account. Read Email opt-in types to learn more.

Saving the consent data

If you add the Data processing and terms of use component to your Claspo widget in the widget builder, you can send the consent data to Dotdigital.

To send the consent data to Dotdigital:

  • Enable the Save consent data slide button.

The consent data from the widget are sent to your Dotdigital account. To learn how to view the consent data, read View a contact's insight data.

Selecting the address book

If you collect the contact emails using Claspo widgets, you can pass the collected data to a specified address book in Dotdigital.

To send collected emails to Dotdigital:

  • Expand the Address book dropdown list and select the Dotdigital address book.

These are the address books that you created in your Dotdigital account, in Audience โ†’ Lists.

Configuring the field settings

To configure settings in the Field mapping section, proceed as described below.

Selecting additional fields

If you use marketing preferences in Dotdigital, you can export the marketing preferences data collected using Claspo widgets.

NOTE:

To use this option, add the checkbox component with marketing preferences to your widget.

To enable sending marketing preferences to Dotdigital:

  1. In Additional fields, enable the Marketing preferences slide button and select the title of the checkbox component from the dropdown list.

  2. Expand the dropdown menus in the Dotdigital column and select the preference from the list corresponding to the field name in the widget.

The Field mapping contains two types of fields:

  • Widget fields. Those are the contact fields you add when editing a Claspo template. For example, email, first name, last name, phone.

  • System fields. Those are the fields depending on the site where a widget is displayed. For example, site language, browser, operation system, device.

Adding static fields

To add static fields:

  1. Select + Add static fields, and add the static field values.

  2. Select the corresponding Dotdigital field names from the dropdown list.

To apply all settings, click Done.

Your Dotdigital account is now integrated with Claspo and user data from the widget are automatically transferred to the specified Dotdigital list.
